Emergencies don’t happen very often at CatSnip, but it’s best to be prepared, should they occur.
Post-operative symptoms that can be considered normal are: decreased appetite, decreased energy level, mild nausea, small amount of fluid seepage from incision, slight swelling (if there is a lump, it should be firm, in likeness to the inside of your thumb.) or redness at incision. If diarrhea occurs for longer than a day, and the surgery site looks normal, please take your pet to your regular DVM for a fecal exam. Continued or prolonged incidence of above symptoms could indicate a more serious problem, in which case you should call the medical emergency line.
If you have any concerns about your pet’s medical condition within the two weeks following surgery, please call the Medical Emergency Hotline at (404) 895-1979. We will take calls from 7:00am – 9:00pm and advise you on how to handle your case.
If two weeks from your pet’s surgery date has passed, we recommend our sister clinic, WellPet Humane:
6225 Peachtree Industrial Blvd
After 9:00pm we recommend:
The Animal Emergency Center of Sandy Springs

Atlanta, GA 30328-3812
In the event that this location is not convenient for you, or in case arrival time is of the essence, please take the time to familiarize yourself with the animal emergency facility nearest to you.
